The Good Life

Well, last week I was able to go home for 4 days and had such a blast! My Grandparents, Aunt Jenny, Uncle Kevin, and cousins Jenna, and Andrew were all in town too! It was a full house and we took turns sleeping with Jenna. For being such a tiny girl, she takes up a lot of the bed, and her feet going up my shirt was a nice touch!
On Monday when I landed, I had Amy take me directly to Amigos for a soft taco and cheesy burrito. That night Amy, her friend Nicole, Elise, and I went to Upstream for a late dinner and a couple drinks. On Tuesday I went to Oakland where Allison was on rotation. I don't think I have seen Nebraska like that, but we had an awesome time. We went to a winery and had a few samples, then headed to her friends house and sat on the porch and drank some more wine with some awesome pizza! Wednesday I stopped by my old Dillards and BCBG store and saw the girls and got caught up on their lives. That night my parents had a bbq, so I could see all of our family friends at once! That night I met up with Kellie for a drink at Old Chicago in the Old Market and she asked me to be her Maid of Honor! I am so excited! I probably should start working on that speech now! Thursday Kellie and I went to go look at wedding dresses-for her! I tried on a couple bridesmaid dresses too. That night Allison, Lindsay, Laura, Kellie, and I went to a CWS game, and I am pretty sure I complained for about 90% of the time. I always get excited to go to games, then end up being miserable once I get there. Once a guy was carried out on a stretcher from passing out we left! Finally! So we went to a beer garden...best part of CWS. Friday morning I left bright and early and was back to work that day!
Jason was not able to make it to Omaha when I was there, but he was driving through on Sunday after I left. He texted me that night saying "I almost died in a tornado near Sidney, NE" and me thinking he is exaggerating says "That's NE for you!" Then I realize he was serious because he was in the hospital! He had a tree go though his window and cut his arm pretty bad and had to spend the night in the hospital! Of course his first time in the state something like that would happen!
I am not sure when my next time home will be, but for sure Lindsay's wedding. I am going to try to make it home in August to see my boyfriend John Legend in concert. We will see!

Home Alone...

Well, Amy's visit has come to an end. We had an awesome time! When she got here on Thursday we did a little shopping at Town Square and ate dinner at The Yardhouse, which was so good! Friday we planned on laying by the pool, but Vegas at 86 degrees was not warm enough for me! I have become a heat snob and was wearing a sweater on Friday! So instead we went to Target and bought everything I needed for my new apartment. Around 3:00 we headed down to the Strip to check in for the night at the Venetian which was so beautiful! I totally recommend staying there! We went to a sushi place that I love for dinner with my old roommate Megan and went on the search for a pair of Oscar de la Renta shoes I am in LOVE with! Couldn't find them, so we tried on Gucci, Dior, and Chanel shoes instead! We went to O'Sheas that night to see a band play that Jason and I go see at an Irish bar in Henderson. They did all cover songs and it was so fun! Then we headed to JET for some VIP treatment and saw DJ Class. On Saturday, we spent the day shopping with Jaimi and Ivy, her almost 4 year old daughter. We went to my favorite frozen yogurt place too! Sunday came around and I had to work so Amy went and had Megan do her hair! She did an awesome job and it looks really good! That night we made dinner for Jaimi and just hung out playing with the kids and holding baby India. Amy left this morning and made it home safe with no delays! Not sure if you really care what we did, but that is all of it haha. So now, I am just getting settled into the apartment and will be Nebraska bound a week from today, and I can't wait!

Awaiting my first visitor...

I am all moved into my new apartment! Granted, it is pretty empty because I came out here with nothing, but I am working on it! Yesterday morning I went over to Jaimi's before work and was able to meet baby India, who is just beautiful! Amy will be here this afternoon and we will have a busy weekend! Jason is picking her up from the airport, so hopefully she will be nice to him. I told him to bring up Angelina Jolie just to see what happens. If you know Amy, it will turn into a 15 minute rant on how she is a home-wrecker. We are staying at the Venetian tomorrow night and then shopping with Jaimi and the kids on Saturday. I am sure we will be taking lots of pictures so I will be sure to post some!
